Christmas Lights & Fair In Newport
Newport Parish Council are hosting a Christmas Fair on Saturday 21st November 2009 in St Thomas Square, on the Isle of Wight.
Medina Marching Band will be opening the event with a march from the Quay to the Square followed by a short display. Santa will arrive at 2.30pm! Punch and Judy by David Randini will start at 3pm he will also perform balloon sculpture.
The Voxpop Choir will be entertaining everyone with carols at 4pm and the grand lights switch on, by IW Radio’s Paul Topping and Michael Coombes, will be at 4.30pm accompanied by Carisbrooke Jazz Band.
Following the switch on will be the judging of the Christmas poster competition with entries from a number of Newport schools. There will be also be stalls in the Square and the chance to talk to Santa.
