Festive Lights of Love

There are many Lights of Love Services due to take place during the Festive Season across the Island in order to raise funds to support the Isle of Wight Hospice.

Lights of Love services bring together prayers of dedication, hymns, inspirational readings and the lighting of candles to commemorate lives and loves past, and the spirit of giving at Christmas time.

Everyone is warmly invited to attend one of the uplifting services, whether it be the main service at St Thomas’ Church in Newport on December 11th  at 7pm.  Or as Shalfleet Parish Council and Friends will be holding their annual Carol Singing Service on Fri 11th Dec in The Horse & Groom, Ningwood and on Sat 12th Dec in The New Inn, Sharfleet.  Both services start at 7pm.

or one of the many other services that are taking place around the Island.

4th Dec           Seaview  St Peter’s Church – Service 7pm

8th Dec           Ventnor St Catherines Church – Service 7pm

9th Dec           Brightstone St Mary the Virgin – Service 7pm

10th Dec         Wootton The Ceders Pub – Service 6.30pm

10th Dec         Arreton The White Lion – Service 6pm

11th Dec         Whippingham Crematorium – Service 7pm

11th Dec         Totland Christmas Carnival from Colwell Common to Moa Place

12th Dec         Lake The Old Manor Pub – Service Midday (12pm)

12th Dec         Yarmouth Service in the Square with the Slipshop Singers, local school children and the Salvation Army.

12th Dec         Bembridge Father Christmas turning on the lights at Lane End, then procession to the War Memorial for a short service, then mulled wine and mince pies in The Cloisters – Starts 5pm

13th Dec         Freshwater St Agnes Church – Service 6pm

13th Dec         St Helens  The Vine Inn – Service 7pm

13th Dec         Brading St Marys Church – Service 5.30pm

15th Dec         Rookley Service on the Green with Shanklin Brass Band and then moving onto the Methodist Church Hall for refreshments.

18th Dec         Cowes The Cove – Service 7pm

21st Dec          Shanklin The Crab Inn, Old Village – Service 6.30pm
